PROJECT INFORMATION

The Catholic Schools Broken Bay Diocese in Lake Munmorah required a critical upgrade to their sewer pump system. The existing dual sewer pump set was outdated and inefficient, necessitating a complete replacement along with a new power feed to ensure reliable and effective waste management. Our team was tasked with executing this comprehensive project, which involved site preparation, precise excavation, installation of a new dual macerating pump set, and thorough testing and commissioning. The project aimed to enhance the school's waste management system while ensuring minimal disruption to their daily operations.

SCOPE OF WORKS

On-Site Risk Assessment

Conducted a thorough risk assessment to ensure safety and compliance with all relevant regulations before commencing work.

Site Preparation and Excavation

Set up fencing around the excavation site to secure the area.
Located and marked any nearby services along the trench line to avoid damage during digging.
Dug a trench 170 meters long, 150mm wide, and 450mm deep from the electrical pit near the sewer pump station to the electrical pit near the admin building.

Conduit and Cabling Installation

Laid a 65mm conduit in the trench while simultaneously pulling through a 35mm 4-core 3-phase cable to the pump set.

Pump Removal and Installation

Used a vacuum truck to clear out the sewer pit and electrical pit.
Disconnected, removed, and disposed of the old pumps and control panel.
Supplied and installed a dual macerating pump set in the sewer pit to ensure efficient waste management.

Testing and Commissioning

Conducted thorough testing and commissioning of the new pump set to verify proper operation and compliance with standards.

Site Restoration

Backfilled the trench and compacted it down to prepare for the re-instatement of grass.
Removed fencing from the site and completed general housekeeping to leave the area clean and presentable.
