PROJECT INFORMATION
Anglicare's Oran Park facility required a renewal of its water service to enhance the efficiency and reliability of its water supply. This project involved the replacement of existing pipework, the installation of new HDPE pipes and a sluice valve, and thorough pressure testing to ensure compliance with Australian standards. This case study outlines the scope of works carried out to achieve a seamless and effective water service renewal.

SCOPE OF WORKS
1. On-Site Risk Assessment
- Conducted a comprehensive on-site risk assessment to ensure safety and compliance with all relevant regulations before commencing work.
2. Concrete Pathway Removal
- Cut and removed the concrete pathway in the street area to access the existing pipework.
3. Mechanical Excavation
- Mechanically excavated by machine to expose the existing pipework, ensuring precision and minimizing disruption to the surrounding area.
4. HDPE Pipework Installation
- Supplied and installed 12 meters of 125mm Blue stripe HDPE pipework to connect to the existing Sydney water main.
- Supplied and installed 12 meters of 125mm Purple stripe HDPE pipework to connect to the existing Sydney water main sluice valve and the existing water meter set.
5. Sluice Valve Installation
- Supplied and installed 1 x 100mm sluice valve for the recycled water service.
6. Pressure Testing
- Conducted pressure testing of the pipework as per Australian standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of the installation.
- Carried out pressure testing of both recycled and potable inlets from the Sydney water main.
7. Backfilling and Compaction
- Backfilled the trenching using Sydney sand and compacted it to ensure stability and longevity of the installation.
- Removed excess spoil from the site to maintain a clean work area.
8. Identification Tape
- Laid identification tape on the Sydney water main to ensure easy future identification and maintenance.
9. Pathway Reinstatement
- Reinstated the concrete pathway to its original condition, ensuring minimal visual impact and maintaining the aesthetic of the area.
